Cryogenic Check Valve
Cryogenic Check Valves in Canada are designed to prevent reverse flow in LNG, industrial gas and other low-temperature systems. Built with cryogenic-compatible materials, they provide reliable automatic shut-off at temperatures down to −196°C.
Cryogenic check valves automatically restrict reverse flow in pipelines handling LNG, liquid nitrogen, liquid argon and other low-temperature fluids. Valves Only Canada is a Cryogenic Check Valve Manufacturer in Canada, supplying stainless steel valves with suitable internal components for service down to −196°C.
Forward pressure opens the disc or piston. When the opening pressure differential decreases, gravity or spring force begins closing the valve, depending on its construction. Reverse pressure holds the closure element against its seat. Correct sizing helps maintain stable disc movement and dependable operation under changing flow conditions.
Features
- Automatic non-return operation
- No external power or actuator required
- Cryogenic-compatible body and trim
- Multiple closure designs for different flow conditions
- Spring-assisted closure in applicable configurations
- Low-temperature functional and leakage testing
- Oxygen-service preparation when specified

Standards and Testing
Applicable specifications include API 594 for relevant check valve constructions and ASME B16.34 for pressure-temperature requirements. Connections may follow ASME B16.5, ASME B16.25, ASME B16.11 or ASME B1.20.1.
API 598 may be specified for inspection and pressure testing. ISO 28921-1 addresses low-temperature design and production testing, with cryogenic functional and seat leakage checks specified for the intended service.
