Functional Design:

In the Swing Check Valve, the process takes place automatically by line pressure and velocity of the fluid. The valve opens up in the case of forward flow as the disc opens out through the hinge pin without any resistance and pressure loss. In case the flow ceases and there is a reversal of flow, the disc closes itself due to gravity and reverse flow pressure.

The design of the simple hinged disc is such that it causes no pressure losses and wear to moving parts and works reliably at high pressures and large diameters in pipelines.
